What started as a casual conversation among college friends in the cafeteria in 2014 has blossomed into Blavity Inc., a powerhouse that builds solutions for Black audiences and enterprises wanting to reach them.
Today, as we celebrate ten years of community-building and Black joy, we also celebrate how far we’ve come. Our portfolio of brands engages and reaches 100 million consumers monthly, all thanks to a steadfast community of supporters who have been with us throughout our decade-long journey. Our success reflects this incredible community, whose unwavering support has been the cornerstone of our growth and achievements.

Blavity Inc.’s journey is a testament to the power of community, vision, and unwavering belief. We owe our success to the early believers who saw potential in our mission, the dedicated employees who have worked tirelessly, the brand evangelists who shared our stories, and the vibrant community that has embraced and supported us. Our goal has always been to bring happiness and representation to Black audiences worldwide.
We proudly celebrate our founder, Morgan DeBaun, who leads our organization with vision and dedication. Her leadership, alongside our co-founders and executive team, is marked by intention, care, and a steadfast commitment to amplifying Black voices and spreading joy. Morgan’s vision has guided us through challenges and triumphs, always consistently focusing on creating impactful experiences that resonate deeply with our audience. Her influence ensures that our mission to uplift and empower remains at the forefront of everything we do.
And with that, we recognize our journey is not just about our growth but also about the impact we create. Inspired by the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Blavity has grown alongside it, becoming a pivotal platform connecting the world to Black experiences. Over the past decade, Blavity Inc. has evolved beyond being a digital media company. We now encompass Blavity Media Group, Blavity360°, and Talent Infusion, reflecting our expanded capabilities and mission.

Our suite of brands embodies the vision we strive to create for our community: a world where all Black people are happy, seen, heard, and celebrated. For the past decade, we’ve worked to make this dream a reality, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to our journey.
In 2024 alone, we’ve achieved significant milestones that highlight our commitment to innovation and community:
- Blavity House Party hosted events during the Grammys and NBA All-Star weekend and launched its inaugural Blavity House Party Festival in Nashville.
- We introduced the AfroTech Founder Circle to create a pathway of investment for Black founders, offering vital resources and network access.
- Our new Creator Collective redefines brand engagement through a network of top-tier multicultural creators.
2024 exemplifies our goals for the future as we continue to expand our reach and impact to create more opportunities and pathways to happiness for our audience. Our dedication to increasing our influence and creating positive change remains unwavering as we look ahead.
