In February, we kicked off the year with the launch of Home & Texture, setting the stage for a series of groundbreaking moments, including an exclusive launch event with creators, influential designers, and tastemakers in Atlanta. March brought a prestigious honor as our visionary leader, Morgan DeBaun, was recognized among Inc. Magazine’s 2023 Female Founders 200. This showcased her impactful contributions to the entrepreneurial landscape.
April marked the introduction of Talent Infusion and Home & Texture’s House Tours series, further elevating our offerings. In May, the Blavity Team had the privilege of visiting the White House to meet with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. What a grand experience to fuel our commitment to diverse and impactful storytelling.
Coming in Hot
The accolades continued as Blavity Inc. claimed the #1 spot as the largest digital Black publisher, surpassing industry giants. Our presence at the 2023 IAB NewFronts highlighted our influence in the digital space. In June, we hosted the first-ever Blavity Juneteenth celebration with the electrifying RNB House Party.
July was a month of reflection and gratitude as we marked Blavity Inc.’s 9th anniversary. A Times Square billboard commemorated this significant milestone, symbolizing our incredible journey. And inclusion on the Inc 5000 list for our three-year revenue growth reaffirmed our commitment to excellence.
Ending summer, August brought an extraordinary achievement with Morgan DeBaun’s induction into the AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement. We also announced the Travel Noire Awards winners! In September, the acquisition of RNB House Party and the rebranding to Blavity House Party showcased our commitment to dynamic and engaging content.
Going into the fall, October saw Blavity Inc. earn a spot among Fast Company’s Brands that Matter for 2023. Furthering our influence in the media landscape. Additionally, Travel Noire launched Wide Open Spaces, expanding its reach and impact.
November marked another successful AfroTech Conference in Austin, TX, resulting in a record-breaking 35,000 citywide participants, 170 enterprise sponsors, and 1.8 billion press impressions. We also received recognition from both President Biden and Vice President Harris.
Closing the year with another major win, Blavity Inc. engaged in an exclusive AI discussion with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Moreover, 21Ninety launched Aisle21, a fully shoppable section of the site offering unique product recommendations, further diversifying its content offerings.
